UPDATE Thank you so much to everybody who donated - we managed to buy new equipment so that we could get back out to events/ festivals and continue to help people in recovery gain work experience. Thank you all so much, we really appreciate your support!
Druglink's objective is to make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by substance misuse, their families and communities, and we achieve this through our pathway of Prevention, Recovery and Reintegration. Once in recovery it’s essential for individuals to develop the skills and confidence needed to re-enter society. Coffee Ethic - our social enterprise - helps us to do this.
Coffee Ethic provides high quality, fair trade coffee, tea, hot chocolate and snacks. Our service offers people in recovery the chance to learn new skills and build confidence through a programme of training and personal development. It helps lead them down the path of reintegration back into work and society.
We run two carts based in council offices in St Albans and Borehamwood. Our mobile vehicles - our vintage Citroen H Van and the ‘Tuk Tuk’ - travel to events and festivals, and are available for private hire. All profits generated are reinvested back into Druglink and developing the Coffee Ethic service.
Over the May Day Bank Holiday Weekend the Coffee Ethic van was broken into and the thieves stoles equipment that we need in order to trade - including our generator and till. We are hoping to raise enough funds to be able to replace these so that we can get back on the road, and back to raising money to help people recovering from substance misuse issues.
We are a small local charity and we're hoping that we can generate support from our local community to help us get the Coffee Ethic Van out and about again. All donations are hugely appreciated - even just a few pounds. And if you can, please tick the gift aid box as every penny counts to us.
Thank you so much for your support, the Druglink Team.
