The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileAimee was perfectly healthy when she was born. Day 4, she went limp in her Mum's arms.
Rushed to hospital, Aimee was diagnosed with group B Strep meningitis. She spent 3 weeks in intensive care and now has quadriplegic spastic dystonia cerebral palsy - she can't walk, talk, eat or drink properly.
As her mum Charlotte says, "Had I been tested and found positive for group B Strep, I could’ve been given antibiotics in labour and Aimee's illness and disabilities would’ve been prevented."
No one should suffer the pain and heartache of preventable group B Strep infection. Yet, on average in the UK, one baby a day develops GBS infection, one baby a week dies and one survivor a fortnight is left with disability.
Group B Strep Support is at the forefront of preventing these infections - providing information & support to families, educating health professionals and campaigning for improvements to national prevention strategy.
Please donate today to help us protect babies like Aimee.
