IWA Aid Relief (IWAAR) is a newly created arm of the long established Iraqi Welfare Association (IWA) to focus on providing aid and assistance to refugees worldwide. We are currently in Greece providing humanitarian support and distributing aid to vulnerable men, women and children

Story

IWA Aid Relief (IWAAR) is fundraising in association with Volunteers for Iraq.

Following the liberation of Tikrit and Fallujah from ISIS, the campaign to liberate Mosul has begun. Over 1 million civilians are expected to flee Mosul looking for safety as violence spreads.

These families have spent the last 2 years living under the brutal rule of ISIS where daughters are taken from their parents, where vulnerable men, women and children are beheaded and where schools, mosques and churches are destroyed.

If we have learnt from the mistakes of Fallujah, we know that the escalation in violence will result in hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians fleeing for safety with nothing but the clothes on their backs. We must be prepared to support these families.

With over 3.3 million Iraqis already internally displaced, the Iraqi government is already overstretched. We have successfully been working with refugees from other cities and now we hope to help IDPs of Mosul.
