Leighton Buzzard Young Farmers Club (LBYFC) was founded in 1934 as a rural youth organisation which was designed to promote achievement within the farming community. It celebrated the skill and talent of its members whilst enabling them to show off their knowledge to their parents, local farmers and compete against other people of a similar age. Over their 82 year history the club has helped many local charities by raising money and providing support to their individual courses. Tens of thousands of pounds has been raised through club activities by our members and from donations by supporters of the club. Led by young people, for young people, LBYFC provide their 115 members aged 10 to 26 with a unique opportunity to develop skills, work in their community and take part in a varied programme.

Story

19 active members of Leighton Buzzard Young Farmers are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge this coming June. Consisting of 3 different mountains in 3 different countries, walking 25 miles, driving 450 miles and all within 24 hours! As a club we are aiming to raise as much money as possible for two local charities KidsOut and Florence Nightingale Hospice. KidsOut are based in Leighton Buzzard and provide children who have fled domestic violence or poverty with days out and memories they can cherish. Florence Nightingale a charity that is close to the heart of several of our members. They are a hospice care charity supporting those in their final stages, the level of support they offer to patients and families is exceptional and we thank both charities for their hard work and dedication.
