Story
Mitochondria are the power supply in all your cells that give them the energy to work. In people who have Mitochondrial Disease these batteries don’t work properly leading to complex health problems.
Power Down and Meet Up For Mito is about turning off your power for one day and spending time with the people you love without the daily distractions of phones, tablets or computers.
The big day will be Sunday the 25th September 2016 marking the end of Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week . Invite your family and friends to get together and do something fun! Have a picnic, a dinner party, invite the family for lunch, a garden party or a disco - you can take part and make a difference to those affected by Mitochondrial Disease.
After your event you can turn your power back on, people with Mitochondrial Disease sadly can’t, but with your help we want to change that.
Thank you for being part of our first Power Down and Meet Up event. Together we can fight Mitochondrial Disease.
