Story
It’s 100 years since women began to get the right to vote in the UK. But since then, the world hasn’t changed fast enough. If you’re born a girl today, you’re more likely to die poor. You’re also more likely to have missed out on a proper education, earn less money and suffer physical or sexual violence. You’re also less likely to be involved in making the decisions that affect women’s lives. That’s unacceptable and it’s senseless. Ending discrimination against women isn’t only the right thing to do – it’s vital if we’re going to beat poverty.
By organising a fundraising event for Oxfam, you can help give more power and influence to women worldwide.
