Story
We know, it is not fair to keep asking our friends for funds. However, this is important, or we would not be asking you to dig into your pockets once again. You have been incredibly generous in giving the charity and its horses a stay of execution by raising over £30,000 for our emergency appeal: Save The Racehorse Sanctuary from Closure.
Yet we now have this great opportunity to put our finances on an even sounder footing for the future by renovating and moving into our new home: The Stable Yard @ Mulsey Farm, Adversane, just up the A29 from Pulborough in West Sussex. New fencing is a priority to make best use of the paddocks; your donations will be a great help.
But if you cannot donate cash but live nearby, Graham and Sue are desperate for practical help with the horses: mucking out, grooming, feeding & leading to and from the paddocks; do get in touch, if you would like to volunteer.
Our poster picture is of Fafa and Azabitmour having a mutual grooming session in temporary accommodation waiting to move into their new home. Fafa is a perfect example of the sort of courageous former racehorse we can help through the Peter O’Sullevan High Dependency Unit. Fafa’s National Hunt career was brought to a premature end through an injury, from which he requires time, before he can be ridden again. We are prepared to give him that time after his trainer took early steps to stabilise his injury. He is a smashing chap: very friendly and easy to work with. If we get his rehabilitation right, there is every chance he may even compete in some new discipline again, but he will in due course most certainly make some lucky keeper a wonderful riding horse. Please, please help us to make this happen, by contributing to the costs of rehabilitating and moving to our new home. Thank you so much.
