In September 2017, the Caribbean was battered by hurricanes.Hurricane Irma left many of the islands barely habitable and Hurricane Maria closely followed, ripping through already vulnerable islands and causing further devastation.

Thousands of people have had their lives torn apart and their homes destroyed.

Red Cross volunteers in every country in the hurricane’s path are helping those affected.

The Hurricane Appeal will cover countries affected by Hurricanes Irma, Jose and Maria and those potentially affected in the future, by this or subsequent adverse weather in the region. In the unlikely event that we raise more money than can be reasonably and efficiently spent, any surplus funds will be used to help us prepare for and respond to other humanitarian disasters anywhere in the world.
