Story
Jeff is a gorgeous ,big softie 3 year old male English Bulldog that has been in the care of our branch for just over a month. He was signed over as his previous owner’s circumstances changed and he was increasingly being left on his own.
Jeff was extremely underweight when he first arrived. This wasn't due to not having enough to eat but rather it was obvious that he most probably had an underlying health issue that needed further investigation. Unfortunately his owner could not afford to do this so they did the right thing in handing him over to RSPCA to find him a new home. He needed blood tests and ultrasound scan as well as tests to check how his digestive system was functioning . Jeff was then prescribed antibiotics as well as courses of other medicines.
The transformation has been remarkable and Jeff has most definitely put on the weight.
Caring for Jeff as well as all the other animals in our care cost a great deal. In 2016 we rehomed 471 animals and they all required feeding and veterinary visits, the vast majority for routine vaccinations ,neutering and flea and worm treatments. There are however the few that need the extra attention like Jeff.
Could you perhaps make a donation this Christmas to help animals like Jeff as well as all the other animals in our care. Your gift would be very much appreciated.
Jeff has been a real star throughout all of his treatment and hopefully should be ready for rehoming in the near future.
