Story

Rugby League Cares is delighted to announce that Gary Carter is finally returning home after spending months fighting for his life in hospital.

Popular and respected freelance journalist Gary Carter was the subject of a vicious attack in early November, after covering the International Series game in London. The amount of well wishes from across different sports have illustrated how loved and well thought of Gary is, and have been a source of great comfort to his family.

Gary’s wife, Gemma said, “Gaz is now out of hospital and back home. Given what he has been through I am over the moon we are at this stage.”

Since returning home, their house has had to be adapted to meet Gary’s needs. We ask for your help in supporting a member of our Rugby League family through this difficult time. There is still a long road of recovery ahead.
