Story
The Safer Living Foundation is a joint venture between HMP Whatton, Nottingham Trent University, National Probation Service (East Midlands), Nottinghamshire Police and Circles UK representatives. The charity adopts a multi-agency approach with a strong research component, focused on reducing sexual (re)offending through rehabilitative initiatives.
The Safer Living Foundation charitable objectives are:
*To promote the protection of people from, and the prevention of, sexual crime
*To promote the rehabilitation of persons who have committed or who are likely to commit sexual offences against others
Projects include the prevention project which exists to support individuals who are concerned that they may sexually offend with the aim of preventing such offences taking place by helping such individuals to manage their sexual thoughts and the accommodation project which aims to provide suitable accommodation prospects to prisons that are leaving prison and integrating back into the community. A third project is around community based Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA). CoSA is an initiative developed to assist sexual offenders released from prison to reintegrate back into the community without reoffending and to help them live constructive and pro-social lives.
These are just some of the many projects run by the Safer Living Foundation. We need your help to help raise as much as possible to support important projects such as these.
With your help we can continue to work towards reducing instances of sexual offences and prevent further victims of sexual abuse.
