Across the UK, 14,000 Sea Cadets (aged 9-17 years) in 400 units take part in nautical adventure every week; they learn valuable life skills and earn useful qualifications helping them to get a head start in life. Linked to Marine Society providing seafarers with lifelong learning opportunities.

Story

By supporting Sea Cadets you can help young people to develop into resilient, confident young people who don’t crumble when the unexpected happens.

New ways of thinking and acting come out of the kind of adventures young people have at Sea Cadets. Like power-boating, learning how to save a life, sailing a tall-ship, catering a crew, parading, even weather-forecasting and engineering.

And with this Sea Cadets find it becomes easier to do better at school, stand out when it comes to getting onto a course and finding a job.

Each place on our tall-ship costs £310, an amount out of the reach of many young people. Amongst other things, we can offer financial help to fund this experience and in 2017 we would like to raise funds that could make this life-changing experience accessible to 10 more young people who otherwise could not afford to sail along.
