Story
Hundreds of people across the UK sleep outside every night and the number continues to rise. Whilst the problem is becoming more visible on our streets, there are also thousands of ‘hidden homeless’ in hostels, sofa surfing and in unsuitable, temporary accommodation.
If, like us, you believe that everyone has the right to a safe, secure home, please join us on Friday 10th November for our annual Sleep Out to raise awareness of this growing problem and to raise money to support the vital work of the Society of St James in tackling homelessness.
As always, the night will be an event of two halves with Southampton Sikh Seva providing a delicious meal for everyone and we will also be showcasing some great local music talent! Joining us for the evening will be the Southampton Ukulele Jam, Junco Shakers, Mike Vaughan, Jo Long and the Pure Drop, Callum Lintott, Honey and the Bee and Jimmy Chills to provide you with some amazing entertainment before the difficult task of bedding down for the night, outside, on a cold November evening.
This year we are asking people to aim to raise £100 sponsorship to spend a night with us under the stars. All the money raised at this year’s event will help us to purchase a new property in Hampshire so that we can assist more people off the streets and on to brighter futures.
