Story
Amplifi selected the UCH Cancer Fund as their charity partner in 2014 and since then have developed a great partnership to make a difference to cancer patients and their families at a very difficult time in their lives. Then have organised a number of fundraising activities including a T hree Peaks Challenge, Trekfest, and Wild Warrior event, raffles at their staff away days, cake bake sales in the office and a juice bike event as part of their wellness week.
The funds raised enabled UCH to refurbish three radioisotope treatment rooms installing a range of media devices to help combat the boredom of being isolated in a treatment room for long periods of time. They are also supporting the work of our art specialist, Dr Lizzie Burns on her anti-boredom creative sessions with patients and their families. Amplifi's Big Bang Ball in October 2016 raised £88,000 to launch the UCLH Cancer Acadmey.
Staff have engaged in volunteering activities helping with Big Toy Cleans of the play/activity rooms, and through their media partners, DCM host regular film screenings for young patients. Also, through their partners they have donated a range of products including magazines for patient waiting areas, toys and mince pies.
