Story
HAPPY is a positive learning experience of inquiry and discovery that develops creativity, critical thinking and the love for reading. It is offered free of charge for preschool aged children from Lebanon’s marginalized and refugee communities.
The program builds the support system around the children by engaging parents and teachers and transfers HAPPY’s best practices and methodology into the student’s classroom and home environment to foster long-term sustainability. HAPPY leverages research findings on the value of early childhood education, which unequivocally demonstrates that the preschool years are critical for a child’s development and learning and significant in establishing a solid foundation for later academic and social success.
A marginalized or refugee child is not synonymous with a person with no potential; they just lack opportunities. HAPPY offers children this opportunity to reach their full physical, creative and intellectual potential.
With 3.3 million people identified as vulnerable of the estimated population of 5.9 million currently living in Lebanon, and knowing that of 40% of them are children, we need to join hands and bring the HAPPY program to more and more children.
For $160 you can bring this happiness for 1 of the 52 participants in each HAPPY module (25 children, 25 parents and 2 teachers).
