Story

Walking Home For Christmas is Walking With The Wounded’s annual campaign to support ex servicemen and women with physical, mental, or social injuries (such as those who are homeless or those in police custody) to reintegrate back into society and regain their independence, through employment.

1. Register at WalkingHomeForChristmas.com and receive a Santa hat and fundraising pack

2. Plan your own walk of any distance and raise money by a straight forward ask or using the sweepstake sheet in your pack on how long it will take you.

3. Get walking anytime from Fri 8 Dec to Sun 17 Dec.

Serve those who served us so our wounded can support themselves, their families and have a chance to feel at home like the rest of us next Christmas.

DUNCAN served for 12 years, with operational tours in Northern Ireland, Macedonia and Kosovo but struggled post discharge with alcohol and depression and became homeless.

After engaging with a Walking With The Wounded employment advisor he is now back in work and able to support his son.

“I am looking forward to spending Christmas with my son as I can now afford to give him the Christmas he deserves,” he said.

Veterans like Duncan have walked in far more dangerous environments for us - where could you walk for them that will inspire donations to the cause?
