In May this year HBOS, in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity, are sending 40 staff to Cape Town, South Africa to build 4 homes for low income families. From 70,000 staff and over 800 applicants I've been lucky enough to be selected to take part.

Cape Town, with it's spectacular location, is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. However, the majority of Cape Town's residents still live in poverty in the townships of Cape Flats. A first world economy with third world housing.

The houses I help to build will provide homes for families participating in a 'save and build' scheme. These families have already been saving for over six months. 100% of the money raised by the HBOS team will go into the building of these houses.
