Final Update 26/4/09-
Well I completed my first ever marathon in London today and I have to say it was the hardest but best thing that I've done, I finished in a time of 3 hours 14 mins, which I am absolutely delighted with. It was such a fantastic day (very hot though) and the crowd were unbelievable. The main thing though is the amount of money raised for Motor Neurone Disease which has gone far beyond what I thought was possible, so thank you all for your fantastic support.

Training going really well and did my first ever race today, completing the Blackpool Half Marathon in 1 hour 26 mins, so really pleased with that and well on track for London.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Now why am I going to put myself through 4 months of torture by getting up at stupid o clock to run up them never ending Queensbury Hills, here’s why:
For those of you don’t know, Martin Potts (Pottsy), a friend and team-mate was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) a couple of years ago and sadly passed away in November at the age of 42. It was an awful shock to everyone who knew him and proves life’s not always fair and that we should all enjoy life whilst we can. I gave up Rugby last year and wanted a new aim, so I thought even better if I can do something to keep fit and to help raise money for the disease Martin had. So in short that is the reason I want to run the London Marathon for MND and put my body through this torture.
I’m hoping to raise £3000 for this great charity in order to raise awareness of this awful disease. So please sponsor me and if you could pass this page on to anybody else that you could think of who would want to sponsor me, it would be much appreciated.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Motor Neurone Disease Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Many thanks for you support.
