We did it!!!
Thank you so much everyone - between me, Carli, Ian Keron and Bryony, we have raised well over £2000 for the RNLI!!!!!
I'm amazed to say that I did complete the abseil. It has been one of the scariest things I've ever done, but the advice to not look down seems to have helped. From the point when we climbed the steps onto the bridge, to the point when I had my feet on the beach, I didn't look down. The view to the horizon was quite nice!
The guys running the event marched us through, like clockwork, so I didn't get a chance to stop. I didn't even notice others around me - Carli and Ian raced down! Both much faster than me, and enjoying themselves.
When I got to the bottom, I had no feeling in my arms, and was in mild shock, but I survived, and its all been worthwhile.
I'm now recovering from the experience on the sofa, with a cup of tea and my feet firmly planted on the ground.
Thanks again everyone!

I'm overcoming my fear of heights to raise some money for the Lifeboats! On 6th June, I'll be abseiling off the Forth Rail Bridge. Physically: not very demanding. Mentally: will I be able to do it??
For anyone connected with the sea, the RNLI is a very important charity - it saves lives at sea.
If you know someone who goes to sea, the RNLI will be their last port of call in an emergency, and it relies entirely on people donating.
So, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The JG people tell me that "donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity."
So please dig deep and donate now. Thanks!!
