Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In December 2015 I was admitted to Hallamshire hospital in Sheffield for an emergency operation on the neurosurgery ward. Had I not had this surgery I would have become paralysed from my neck down.
Without the help of the neurosurgery team I would have been in a very bad place, and I feel that I want to give something back to the hospital to enable them to continue to do the fantastic work they do. Already a centre of excellence in the UK they need support to raise funds to be able to buy more lifesaving equipment and continue to research projects and have specialist training so that people suffering from neurological conditions can continue to have the best care available.
So I am going to participate in the Neurocare Head Start 5K on the 17th April 2016 at Rother Valley Country Park. It can be walked or run, but I will be walking it which will be an achievement for me as prior to my surgery just walking a few steps was a challenge,
At the time of writing this (Jan 2016) 5K is still a challenge for me, but I hope that by April I will manage to get round, and it is also a personal goal for me to aim for..
I would like to raise at least £300 so I hope that you will find yourselves able to donate. Any donation will be gratefully accepted and will go directly to the charity.
