Story

Charity event AFTERNOON TEA 10th June - What a fantastic event supported by over 70 friends and family.  A BIG THANK YOU to all who contributed tombola, raffle prizes and cakes and to all who helped out on the day, including Joanna from Phoenix cards, Carolyn from Body Shop, Louise from Usborne Books, Marianne and her jewellery and Auntie Billie with her knitted dolls, these alone contributed £150 to the grand total.   Watch this space for the final total and possible future events, we must be mad!!  Update - New Total is £963.34 including 2 kind and generous donations from Kath Jeffs, Pete's Nan (online) and Sandra & Stewart.  Many thanks

Carole Salt was a beloved Wife, Mum, Nana, Sister, Auntie and friend to many.

Carole was taken away from us in January 2010 following a 12 year illness which she bravely fought with the support of her family.

She thoroughly enjoyed life, getting out and about socialising, holidaying and being with her close family/friend network.

She was a valued member of many committees and associations and was renowned for her charity and voluntary work.

She loved animals and nature enjoying walking with her many dogs over the years and more recently spent many weekends away in the caravan.

Mum never wanted to talk about cancer (but was very empathetic of other people's sorrow and loss to the dreadful disease). She certainly wanted to live life to the full so we felt we wanted people's donations to go to this charity as they do alot of research into finding a vaccine to prevent this awful heart breaking disease that affects so many lives.  There will always be someone you know who has experienced breast cancer in whatever form, let's try to make a difference!!

Thanks go out to the following people who donated to the charity through the funeral directors, a further amount of £721 was raised:-
