We support Birmingham Children's Hospital to improve the lives of sick children

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

On 26th October 2008 I will be taking part in my first half marathon in Birmingham!  I am currently training very hard (in all weathers!) to get myself into some kind of shape so that I don't embarass myself too much on the day!

I am using this event to raise money for the Kidney Kids Appeal at Birmingham Children's Hospital. Led by BBC WM, this appeal aims to raise £1.5 million to provide the 1500 children who visit the Renal Unit every year with the facilities and healing environment they richly deserve.  Blind Dave of 7 marathons, in 7 days, on 7 continents fame is also running for the Kidney Kids Appeal and his achievements have inspired me to join his team.  I figured that any discomfort I will experience will be nothing compared to the challenges he faced and the challenges that the children who attend the Renal Unit face on a daily basis.

I would be very grateful if you would consider sponsoring me.  Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Birmingham Children's Hospital Charities gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Please help to make a difference to the lives of the many children who visit the Renal unit at Birmingham Children's Hospital every year.  Please dig deep and sponsor me now.  Every penny counts.

Thank you in advance for your kind donation.

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
