Well, I have done it & I am proud to say that I finsihed the marathon in 4hrs 17mins and it was an amazing feeling to see and cross the finishing line!! The NY crowd were amazing and made it so enjoyable, I don't think I stopped smiling for the first 10 - 13 miles....it got a bit harder from 18 miles onwards, it was a bit of a mind game to get the end! My legs really wanted to stop but I wanted to finish and collect my medal!
Thanks to all for your sponsorship,
Carrie xx
p.s. I am hooked and plan to do Chicago in October 2010 and London in 2011!

Hi all and continued thanks to those who have sponsored me!! I have hit a bit of training lull due to problems with my knee...my physio calls it 'runners knee' but I prefer to think of it as 'athletes knee'!! I have not been able to run for a couple of weeks and have been resting and doing lots of squeezing exercises - I am trying to stay positive for the big day though and I can't wait for the 1st Nov!

Just to say a quick thanks to all who have donated so far - my training is going well and I haven't missed a long weekend run yet! I am up to 15 miles and the big 20 mile run is booked in for the 3rd October....oh my gwad!!
I am very excited for the big day and I am very lucky to have 4 supporters coming with me - I am sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I am running in the one of the best shopping capitals of the world!!
I would recommend running a marathon to anyone - I genuinely look forward the long runs and can feel myself getting fitter which is great.
8 weeks to go but whose counting....

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page....no doubt you are bored of the emails and hints and you have finally given in!!
I entered the New York marathon in the ballot and was lucky to get a place for 2009 - a great event and a great location!! The training started this week and I am aiming to finish in 4 - 4 hrs 15 mins....I have put that down so that now I have to do it (what do you mean competitive?!)...
I am paying for all the costs involved so you can be certain that all donations will go straight to Macmillan. Now for the official bit!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
I will be updating the page as I go along and many thanks for taking time to donate.
