Catkin & Adam (Mother & Son) joined the Maidwell Sponsored Trek to raise money for Muir Maxwell Trust, in Edward's memory who died of an epileptic fit in June 1997. We made it to the Summits of Great Gable (899m), Scarfell Pike (978m), High Raise (762m) & Helvellyn (950m) which kept us puffing. A Fantastic feeling of achievement! We left straight after the Common Entrance exams, & over a period of 3 days, covered 30 plus miles - carrying all our kit in backpacks!! Twelve 12/13 year olds, twelve parents & fortunately led brilliantly by our very experienced expedition leader, Robert Lankester (Headmaster).
A HUGE Thank You for any donation you have already given us or may still give us. We have exceeded our expectations & continue to be thrilled by everyone's generosity. It's NOT TOO LATE to donate....
The Muir Maxwell Trust is one of the leading charities in the UK raising funds for paediatric epilepsy. The Trust's remit is to provide practical support to children with severe epilepsy and their carers, to increase awareness and understanding and to help remove the stigma associated with epilepsy.
