Over 456,000 people in the UK are affected by
epilepsy and as you may know, I am one of them. Epilepsy is a neurological
condition that causes seizures through a temporary disruption to normal brain
function. 75 people are newly diagnosed
every day and there are 1,000 epilepsy-related deaths a year, yet the
condition receives little publicity and even less research funding.
Epilepsy Research UK is exclusively dedicated to
funding research into all areas of epilepsy. My epilepsy is well
controlled and with a few minor adjustments (no drinking, no scuba diving...!)
it doesn't really affect my life. I am lucky. Life for
many people with epilepsy is unpredictable and restricted, and the
research undertaken by Epilepsy Research UK is vital.

On 31 May I will be running the Bupa London 10K to
raise money for Epilepsy Research UK and would be delighted if you could help
me reach my target. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. JustGiving will send your money directly to Epilepsy Research UK and make sure Gift Aid is
reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
Please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you so much - I'll let you know how I get on.
