About us
Fairley House is London’s leading day school for students with specific learning differences (SpLD), supporting students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia. The school, founded by the late Daphne Hamilton-Fairley, was the first of its kind in the country and over the last forty years has transformed the lives of hundreds of students and their families. Children typically arrive at Fairley House having had difficult experiences at previous schools; their needs poorly supported and badly understood making them feel isolated and stupid versus their peers.
At Fairley House smaller class sizes mean students have the individualised support they need, in an environment that builds their confidence so they can rediscover a love of learning. A transdisciplinary approach combining the expertise of specialist teachers, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists is embedded into the educational experience and accelerates students’ progress. The school’s magic formula, perfected over time, transforms the learning outcomes of their students, so they are inspired and empowered to achieve things they may have never thought possible.
We are now raising funds to renovate a building, next to our existing Junior School, to be a bespoke, world-class Senior School that will greatly enhance our offering. There will be specific sensory-led learning spaces, greater access to outdoor provision and greater adaptability to suit every learner’s individual needs.
