Fairley House School - Fundraising a New Home for Big Dreams

Ben Golden is raising money for Fairley House School
Fairley House is London’s leading day school for students with specific learning differences (SpLD), supporting students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia.  The school, founded by the late Daphne Hamilton-Fairley, was the first of its kind in the country and over the last forty years has transformed the lives of hundreds of students and their families. Children typically arrive at Fairley House having had difficult experiences at previous schools; their needs poorly supported and badly understood making them feel isolated and stupid versus their peers. At Fairley House smaller class sizes mean students have the individualised support they need, in an environment that builds their confidence so they can rediscover a love of learning. A transdisciplinary approach combining the expertise of specialist teachers, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists is embedded into the educational experience and accelerates students’ progress. The school’s magic formula, perfected over time, transforms the learning outcomes of their students, so they are inspired and empowered to achieve things they may have never thought possible.  We are now raising funds to renovate a building, next to our existing Junior School, to be a bespoke, world-class Senior School that will greatly enhance our offering. There will be specific sensory-led learning spaces, greater access to outdoor provision and greater adaptability to suit every learner’s individual needs.

Story

We are delighted to share the exciting news that we have purchased a site close to our existing Junior School and adjacent to Archbishop’s Park which, once renovated, will become a new bespoke Senior School for Fairley House that will further expand our world-class offering.

We are looking to raise significant funds to convert the building from its current use as office premises to become a fit-for-purpose specialist school building that will help deliver transformative learning experiences for our students with specific learning differences. As well as direct access to wonderful outside space in the heart of Central London, Fairley House will essentially be a single-site school again and enjoy all the many benefits this will bring.

We are welcoming donations to achieve our fundraising target of £5m to help make our vision a reality and transform the learning outcomes for future generations of neurodiverse learners.
