About us
Elmore was established to provide support in 1989; focusing on people in Oxford City who were falling between the gaps of support services, and who had complex or multiple needs.
Today, Elmore holds a similar place locally; known as the go to organisation to support people who need a different approach in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
The Elmore approach often includes support delivered in the home, or the person’s local community, and is characterised by case workers who persevere, support people through a number of challenges, and seek always to get alongside and aim for empowerment and increased independence as outcomes of this support.
The people who Elmore support often experience mental health issues, and may face challenges with substance use, insecure housing and domestic abuse. People may have experienced abuse or exploitation and found that they need support to tackle their problems, improve their lives, and feel part of their communities.
Elmore has an active and influential members association, and is part of the Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership and Oxfordshire Homeless Alliance.
