Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.

I’ve been lucky enough to get a place to run this years’ London Marathon  and I’m very honoured to be running for 1000heartsfor harry, a charity set-up by my colleagues, Debbie  and Mario Dubois and their family. Sadly, they lost their 17 year old son, Harry from an undiagnosed heart condition. He was a kind and caring young man and much loved by all his friends and family.

The current official figures are 12 young people in this country die every week from undetected heart conditions, although this number is likely to be much higher as statistics become accurate. 

1000 Hearts for Harry, raises funds for young people to have their hearts tested at screenings across the country.

All the donations  to toward paying for young people to have hearts screenings. So far they have screened over 2000 children and young people, a small but significant number have had heart issues, which have been detected at an early stage and we hope have helped to extend and preserve their lives.
