After months of puffing, red faced round the Oxfordshire countryside, I'm running in the New York City Marathon on November 2nd 2008, in aid of MPF Counselling - part of the WPF network, and where I spend my Fridays every week.

"One in four people experience mental distress at some point in their lives.  It affects young and old, rich and poor, people from cities and isolated rural areas.  It destroys lives and can happen to anyone" Mind UK.

MPF Counselling is a charity based in High Wycombe and over the last 30 years has helped thousands of adults suffering from problems such as depression and anxiety.  It is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and a member of the wpf network - one of the leading providers of counselling and psychotherpy in the UK (www.wpf.org.uk).  It's 30th Anniversary Fund Raising Appeal hopes to raise money to secure its future.
