We provide extended welfare support to our Members and their dependants.
Story
SBSA Charity Appeal
The SBSA is a registered Charity, and is funded entirely by voluntary subscriptions and donations and is open to all serving and former members of the SBS. In short, the aims of the SBSA are similar to that of the better known charity 'Help for Heroes' and are as follows:
* To relieve members or their dependants who are in need by virtue of financial hardship, injury or sickness
* To perpetuate the memory of those members who have died in the service of their country
* To foster esprit de corps, comradeship and welfare
* To help preserve the traditions of the Service.
The aim of the SBSA is to make better preparations for the probability of casualties and the blunt truth is that their existing resources would prove completely inadequate in the event of an incident involving major casualties where families would need concurrent support for a protracted period. The SBSA also plan to establish an Educational Assistance Fund to help fund education and training for the children of those SBS men who lose their lives in the service of the country and the funding of a much needed Families Centre at their base in Poole.
Supporting those who serve from the shadows, The Special Boat Service Association is committed in supporting past, present and future Operators and their dependants, ensuring a lifetime of support where necessary.
