We support people to help rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. This year I will be hauling my ageing and bulky frame around 26.2 painful miles for the London Marathon. To spur me on in this task I would like to raise as much as possible for the Stroke Association. I am sure nearly all of you know a family member or friend that has been affected by stroke. Stroke is the 3rd biggest killer and the biggest cause of severe adult disability in the UK but receives only 3% of total funding given to the top 3 killers. The money I raise will go towards research and care of Stroke patients. Please dig deep and sponsor me online for this highly deserving cause.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Stroke Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

To make things a little interesting I will be updating this page with my progress and hopefully an updated slim pic of me...... promises promises

Against my better judgement I have decided to join the blogosphere and even more so have decided to show the link here ..  http://www.realbuzz.com/en-gb/Blogs/index?pageID=1997&blog=3281 Here I hope to keep those that are interested (are there any?) with my training progress and some other random stuff. Happy reading all you lovely donors! Hopefully not too nerdy...

17.4.07 Race day only 5 days away now. Done the training miles and not injured (touch wood). So will give it my best shot on Sunday whatever happens. Cheekily I have raised the fundraising bar to £5000 as it is both possible and is a sum of money that will really make a difference. Thanks to everyone who has so generously given. Clive

22.4.07 Completed the race in record high temeparatures in ever slower minutes per mile times in 3 hours 53 mins. Wonderful atmosphere, the crowds were magnificent and your generosity and the charity kept me going during my what seemed eternal 'bad patch'!  Cheers!
