Dear All,

Just to let you know, I will be attempting three ultra-distance events this year in the aim of raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. I am going through the St. James's Place Foundation because  they will match everything that I raise.

The three events start with a little jog along the banks of the Grand Union Canal (GUCR) from Birmingham to London. It's 145 miles long, has a cut-off of 45 hours, and the longest rest that I can have at any one time is 40 minutes. That starts on 23rd May.

My second event is a cycling trip from Land's End to John O'Groats (LE JOG). This is about 950 miles and we hope to take about 9 days to finish. This will start on 23rd June.

My final event is a Double Ironman event, again up in Birmingham, between 1st-2nd August. This entails swimming just under 5 miles, cycling 224 miles and then running a double marathon, or 52 miles, all in under 35 hours.

A little mad maybe, but all for a good cause. After all these events, hopefully I'll be able to stop & put my feet up!
