Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising homepage, and welcome to the current world of Cool Walkings!
We consist of Rich, Dan, Ben & Chris, and being a bit 'off the wall' we have decided to walk 100kms over 30 hours through rain, sleet or snow (probably all considering this event is in July and in the UK!) in the name of Oxfam.
Our target time for this achievement is 25 hrs. For those of you still working on imperial measurements, this equates to a walking pace of roughly 3 miles per hour, for 25 hours straight, with no sleep, snoozing, and very little respite.
To achieve this we will start our training in January 2009 - a full 6 months before the event. Our strict training regime will consist of a mixture of gym sessions, beach walking, hillside trekking, gentle jogging and shockingly, staying off the booze. Come on, that must be worth a tenner!
Any donations to edge us closer to our target will be greatly appreciated and, as the link below demonstrates, are towards a great cause. Additionally, sponsoring us through this website is quick, easy and secure and Justgiving can reclaim an extra 25% in tax on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. On top of this, the government will also give UK charities an extra 3%, meaning that tenner is actually a £12.82 donation.
So please, sit back, donate a bit of money, and watch us try to master mind-over-matter (matter being feet in this occasion!) as we aim to reach our target. Thanks for your support, and if you want any more information on the event please visit http://www.oxfam.org.uk/get_involved/fundraise/trailwalker/index.html?ito=1769&itc=0, and should you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact any of us.
