Story

I am running the Barcelona Marathon on 7th March and am raising money for a little known charity called STARS at the same time. STARS stands for Syncope Trust And Reflex anoxic Seizures. Seizures, blackouts and arrhythmias (irregular heart beat) affect thousands of people including children and can be distressing. Sometimes confused with epilepsy, these conditions are not life threatening if understood and treated properly, although quality of life can be severley affected. STARS is a family run charity, set up in 1993 to raise awareness and provide information, help and guidance to sufferers. Patrons include Roger Moore, Elton John, Twiggy and John Burton Race. If you want to know more, visit the STARS website at www.stars.org.uk

Knowing that I am running for this worthwhile cause will help me get round what will be my first ever marathon. Therefore, any donation, however small is much appreciated and will help me towards my target of £500. Thanks for reading this and thank you for donating, if you do.
