Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah.

This page has been set up for and on behalf of Al-Haj Abdul Kayum who sadly passed away on 23/05/2017 after battling cancer. He was a loving man and a man of the people. For the people who know him, they can vouch that he always looked out for others before himself. Walking around with a smile and giving advice to anyone young or old. His acts of kindness were reciprocated during the days coming to his death with the sheer number of people visiting him in the hospital and during the day of his Janazah (funeral). The family are forever grateful for the support and love the whole community has shown towards them and him.

The intention is to raise as much as we can in order for the family of Al-Haj Abdul Kayum to decide which projects shall be undertaken. They have a few ideas such as building a mosque, water wells or even just being able to help other charities & projects which are active.

As the hadith stipulates; "When a man passes away, his good deeds will also come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)" Narrated by Abu Hurairah, Sahih Muslim.

We all know the benefits of being charitable, the rewards of such an act are reaped by both the donor and receiver. Allah says; "Those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah and do not follow up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury, their reward is with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." Surah Al- Baqarah, 262.
