    Story

Adam Davies died suddenly in the final week of March 2017 at the age of 47.

Among his many personal qualities, Adam was possessed of a mischievous sense of humour, a razor-sharp wit and the heart of a practical joker. If he noticed that someone was feeling low, his instinct was to pick them back up again with humour.

He was fiercely intelligent and although the phrase ‘does not suffer fools gladly’ would be an apt description, this was tempered by kindness and a willingness to help anyone who asked for it.

A political, rather than party-political ‘animal’, Adam also cared deeply about the direction of travel for this country, as well as many issues - including equality and disarmament.

Adam had a love of film which stretched, unbroken, from the wonder he experienced as a child, through to adulthood. He had a knack and a love for pulling quotes from dozens of films and programmes to the surface of his mind at the perfect moment.

His love of the movies not only informed his personal life, it shaped his professional ambitions too and even he was surprised at how much he had already achieved in this sphere of his life.

Described as the sharpest tool in the box and a “kind genius”, Adam was a systems engineer for a leading film post-production company, although he also had extensive experience of the editing process. This made him something of a hybrid in his field and he was highly regarded by both colleagues and peers. There was no doubt in anybody’s mind about his eventual trajectory.

Given how many people’s lives Adam touched, we expect a large turnout of family friends and colleagues to his funeral. We need your help to give him the manner of send-off which reflects the esteem and regard we all had for him. Thank you.

Adam was a friend to both my daughters. My first impression was that he was such a polite boy. He grew up to be a kind, good humoured and generous man. He will be missed and always in our thoughts
