Story
Leigh, Dave, Carl, Matt and Pete are going to be riding 100+ miles, on bicycles from Birmingham to Barmouth on the 20th May 2017 to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Red Star Football Club. Whatever money we raise will be split 50/50 between the organisations.
This is a massive task. None of us are club riders, we are all complete amateurs. Yes, we will be training and taking advice from experienced riders to make sure we complete the task, but one such expert actually said,
"This is a hell of a challenge and I take my hat off to the guys for having a go. About 60% of the route is a climb including a mountain, it would be like running marathon, and then some!"
Birmingham Children’s Hospital do incredible work for very ill children and their families and, as we all know, NHS budgets are being cut all the time. We take for granted the luxury of having a world renowned hospital on our doorstep, but their financial resources are finite. Whatever we raise will definitely help and make a difference – even if its just for one child, it would be all worth it.
Red Star Football Club is the club where Stanley, my son and Ethan, Leigh’s son play football. The club, based in Aldridge, is run by a hugely dedicated team of volunteers who invest a significant amount of time and energy into running this not for profit business that now benefits over 300 children. The club house was inherited from the McKechnies Sports and Social Club as a disused facility that has been brought back to life, but the facilities are in desperate need of repair and money is exceptionally tight. Whatever is raised will go a very long way to making sure that the club continues to be a great place for kids to play football for many years to come.
Whether you can donate £1, £2, £5, £10, £20 or more it would be used very wisely for two magnificent causes.
THANK YOU!

8 years agoHELLO FOLKS! As you know, the ride doesn't take place until the 20th May, so you donated to the first page we set up. The JustGiving site only allows a fundraising page to be open for a relatively short period of time, so we will have to set up a new page now. The donations that have been made will be transfered across to the new page so that . Thanks again for supporting us. the B2B team
