    Story

My name is Becky and I am fully committed and passionate about changing the lives of others for the better.
This summer, once I have completed my A-Levels, I am going to travel to South Africa to volunteer with The MylifE Foundation. They are based in a very rural part of South Africa named Mtwaku
This is a charity that takes the unwanted, abused and abandoned children off the streets of South Africa where they are recruited by drug gangs to help break into houses, and gives them a safe and educational environment in which to thrive.
The charity has built a sustainable village for these children to give them a fresh start, and they're teaching the children how to survive growing their own food and using the land around them.
So far, the charity has done some amazing work, however there's still a long way to go, and they're facing an uphill battle. I plan to fund raise in order to make a big difference in these children's lives, and you can help me in achieving my goals and giving these children what they so deserve.
I am raising money for three projects that I wish to develop. Firstly, because meat is expensive and not readily available, I plan on starting a pig unit to produce a valuable source of protein for the children's diets. Secondly, they use dogs as a form of therapy, and the charity cannot afford for a vet to visit the dogs, so the dogs have never been wormed or de-flea'd. I also plan on getting the dogs neutered so that they do not produce more dogs than the charity has to look after. The third project I am determined to work on is building horse stables, and providing tack and rugs for the horses that they use therapeutically so the children can ride them safely.
I have already held a raffle that raised £130 and I am soon to complete a sponsored walk as soon as we have reached our goal of raising sponsorship of £1500. My flight leaves England at the end of June, so I still have a long way to go and all support will be really appreciated.

This is Martin. He was just three years old when he was told by his mother that she never wanted to see him again. That's when his life of crime began. When he learned to survive by living on the streets and becoming a gang member. Then he found The MyLife Foundation. Football was the intervention that got him off the street, and he became the ambassador for this film and the Homeless World Cup. Martin in one of many children and youth who have been given a chance by this charity. Please help me to help them by making a donation

we completed the sponsored walk on Sunday 23 April. Put a smile on my face thinking about the money we were raising! Also as an update, I did a presentation to the year 10s and 11s at my school today! I'm lucky that my school is getting involved and letting me do a money collection next week. Giving a presentation to years 7, 8 and 9 on Friday! Wish me luck!!

People ask 'how can anybody abuse a child?' I ask ' how can so many people not do anything about it?' This is a chance for you to make a real difference to the lives of those who deserve it, and will appreciate it so much more than you could imagine.
