I am hoping to raise money for equipment for Chestnuts Pre-School
Unlike private nurseries Chestnuts operate as a non-profit organisation. Wokingham borough council provide funding per child however this funding only provides the basics - it just about keeps the lights on and pays the staff; everything extra comes from fund raising or donations.
The council funding we receive per child is up to 2/3 less of that received in other areas in the UK as it is dependent on prevailing social & economic conditions.
