    Story

Emsea, industry leaders in subcontracting solution, have pledged to sponsor ‘Wool-verine’ the racing sheep.

Taking part in the ever popular family event Frampton Sheep Racing on Saturday 17th September 2016, the Emsea sheep will compete against other ewes in one of eight unique and riotous races.

“Initially we had a good chuckle about our sponsorship of a racing sheep,” commented Chris Sweet, director at Emsea.

“But Guy’s Trust Fund is such a worthy cause. Created by Stuart & Deb Watts, in memory of their son Guy who tragically passed away earlier this year, Guy’s Trust Fund will support other children with life limiting illnesses and their families.”

You too can support the fund which will be donating money towards furnishing a new family accommodation unit near Bristol Children’s Hospital.

“Often children will have to attend hospitals far away from home for treatment and not all families are in a position to fund lengthy hotel stays,” says Rachel Watts, Retro Track & Air (UK) Ltd.

“The money we raise will help alleviate some of the stresses felt by families who face separation at such a difficult time."

She continued: “In addition we are supporting The Wave Project. Guy had IV (intravenous) lines which would normally mean he could not participate in a trip to the beach, despite its therapeutic effects on self-esteem and confidence. However, with the help of a specially commissioned dry suit he was able to enjoy this childhood pleasure. We want to make this available to other similarly challenged children.”

Named by Mr Sweet’s ‘super-hero mad’ children, Wool-verine has captured the imagination of the entire workforce, with many members of staff pledging to support the races.

You can show support for Emsea’s sheep on twitter using the hashtag #wool_verine, making a donation or by joining us on the day at Frampton Court.
