Story
What are we fundraising for:
We are using our upcoming self-care challenge as an opportunity to fundraise for a cause that is very close to our hearts, the brilliant Harlow Fields School and College.
Harlow Fields School and College is run exclusively for pupils with moderate, severe, and complex needs, staffed by the most amazing group of teachers and support staff.
We would like to raise funds to help support the PTA in transforming an unused space within the school, into a multi-use room that the team can use to rest and recuperate, hold meetings, plan and do admin. As you can see from the pictures, the space currently isn’t fit for use, but we think with your help we can make this the perfect retreat for a very deserving team.
Why is this important to us?
Our pictures show the ridiculously handsome Alfie, a student of Harlow Fields, along with his teacher (and one of his favourite people). Alfie has Cerebral Palsy, along with several other complex medical needs, which presents many challenges from a day-to-day perspective.
Alfie and his mum, Sophie, are close friends of the team at Oops a Daisy, so we have seen first-hand what an amazing difference the teachers and support staff at Harlow Fields make to their lives. The staff at Harlow Fields have an incredibly challenging job and they deserve a space fitting to how awesome they are!
What is the Self-Care Challenge:
At Oops a Daisy we run an annual self-care challenge that is designed to encourage you to participate in a bit of me time! This year our challenge will be co-hosted by the lovely Emma at Sunshine Lane, a small business that is focussed on creating products to encourage you to be kinder to yourself and practice more self-care. Over the course of 7 days you will be encouraged to complete self-care activities, and share with the community in our exclusive Facebook group. We will also be hosting 3 live streams, each focusing on journaling and creativity. The challenge takes place from 15-21st March 2024, to find out more, visit www.oopsadaisyuk.com/self-care-challenge
