Your child has cancer - something we are never supposed to hear; it’s something you see on television, or read in trashy magazines, but not something that happens to us - is it!!

Sam was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) on the 1st December 2016. He will need 3 years of treatment if all goes well. During this time he will have countless visits to various hospitals, anaesthetics, operations, blood tests, injections, lumbar punctures and blood transfusions. Life is now full of challenges; some we take for granted like eating breakfast, going to school for an hour or walking to the shops. Some are much more difficult: like learning how to stand up to the bully who rips the hat from his head in the playground or coping with the fact his life has changed immeasurably when he did nothing wrong. He doesn't deserve this - but no one does!

Sam is a brilliant child; for those who know and love him you will recognise the playful, silly character, full of fun, daft faces and a strong streak of naughtiness. He is a keen sportsman, an excellent football player, a talented diver and a promising cricket player. Show him a ball, he will kick it, a field and he is running, a hill and he is climbing, friends and he is laughing. He is hugely loved by those whose life he touches.

So let’s give him something to look forward to. Let’s help him have something to plan for in the dark days.

Sam wants to Ski - he wants to beat this and go skiing. He wants to hit the slopes in all the gear and be able to wiz down the mountain with adrenaline coursing through his body, a huge smile on his face and the wind in his hair. !!!So let’s make it happen!!!

Donate your spare change, hold a cake sale, go for a run, climb a hill, shave your head, get the kids to collect copper coins, wash cars, do something silly, anything you can offer will be hugely appreciated.
