💙FOREVER 22 - JACK BEAMES💙

I was hoping never to have to write these words, but my worst nightmare has come true.

On Saturday 24th February, 2024, only two weeks after his 22nd birthday, Jack Beames passed away.

Jack was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in 2015 and continued to battle tirelessly for his life. Ewing's Sarcoma affects the bones and the surrounding tissue and it was necessary for Jack to go through gruelling chemotherapy, Proton Beam Radiation (in the USA) and later conventional radiotherapy.

In an attempt to save his life, he had major surgery, spent countless weeks in hospital, having intense treatment, suffering various debilitating side effects and fighting like the "Champion" that he was.

Despite Jack's disease relapsing, over and over again, he never gave up, until he had no choice. He was always looking for treatment options and ways of raising awareness. He loved his family, his friends, his cars and his holidays. He worked hard and loved his life. It was just cut far too short.

I have sat at Jack's bedside since he came home to Gosport to spend quality time with his family. Unfortunately for Jack, treatment options ran out and he died with those who loved him by his side. I cannot lie and say that it wasn't the most traumatic thing that I have ever done...........because, it was.

Helen and Andrew (Jack's Parents) have been amazing through his journey. They would have done anything to change the outcome for Jack, but it was just not meant to be. They have taken months off work to be by Jack's side and are now planning Jacks funeral, something a parent should never have to do.

I am hoping to raise money to support Helen and Andy in paying for Jacks funeral arrangements, to give them one less thing to worry about and to ease the financial burden that taking time of work has caused.
