My name is Max Saunderson I am a 13 years old and I am a Scout.

I try as much as I can to help other people, I have spent a lot of my time organising cake sales and raffles to raise money, I especially try to help homeless people. I take part in the race for life each year and have slept rough for the night to help the white chapel centre.

This is the first time I have tried to raise money for myself.

In March 2018 Merseyside Scouts have organised a once in a life time trip to Nepal and I have been offered a place. We will be there for 16 days, half of our trip will be spent trekking up Poon Hill reaching an elevation of 3120m, we will have to climb 3200 steps too! I am trying to raise money to help pay for the cost of my trip.

The most important part of the trip to me is the second part, after our trek we will be spending the rest of our time staying with local families and working on a CENUK schools charity project. Child Education Nepal UK was officially registered as a charity in 2008. Its purpose is to “.. advance the education of the children & young people of Nepal….in particular, through the building of Schools and other educational facilities & the provision of educational material, tutors, scholarships & other grants….and finally, the relief of young people who are in conditions of need,hardship or distress” The children of Nepal are amongst the poorest in the world. Working in the remote village of Ashrang in the Himalayas, CENUK is committed to supporting the children who live there and ensuring that each one has the opportunity to attend school.

Thank you for helping me raise the money for my trip, no matter how small a donation you can spare it really really would help and be appreciated. I know this trip will be an experience which will stay with me forever.
