As you may be aware, Rocky's ashes were recently scattered around the 8th tee on the Silver Course at the Shropshire Golf Club. Why the 8th I hear you ask? Perched on a hillside it offers spectacular views of the course and County and was his favourite hole to play for a few reasons; the chance of earning a 'baileys' being one, and a fairway so wide even Rocky couldn't miss, although he often would!

With the kind permission of The Shropshire Golf Club, I have been given the go ahead to place a permanent memorial bench (with plaque) adjacent to the 8th tee. Working with the club management, a suitable bench has been identified that will stand up to the elements and last for many years to come.

With your help we can fund this memorial together and hopefully get this bench in position for the start of the golfing season - 1st April 2017. I realise that a few may be hesitant to fund a memorial they may never get to see or have the opportunity to use; that is understandable. For the golfers amongst us, both the casual hackers and the serious swingers, I for one would be pleased to host any of you for a round of golf at The Shropshire once the memorial is in place. I'm sure I also speak on behalf of the other club members and friends that regularly played golf with Rocky over the recent years.

With sufficient interest from yourselves, the possibility of a bespoke golf/foot-golf event in aid of MIND has already crossed my mind. This would be in addition to a new annual club competition in Rocky's name that The Shropshire will introduce in October 2017.

Please give what you can towards this fitting memorial. If we break the £550 mark, all further donations will go towards a bigger bench and/or a single donation to the charity MIND.
