2016 has been a brilliant year for the 4th Bromley Scouts, we saw some of our older scouts moving on to become Young Explorers and embraced some Cubs moving up into our Scout group and welcoming some newbies into our Scout home.

We have spent a wet and wonderful week on the Isle of Wight where we didn't let the downpour dampen our spirits and have visited places like Jump Giants (trampoline heaven!) and attended many weekend camps.

All of the above was made possible by the hard and excruciating work of the Scouts Parents and Leaders, myself included, that took part in the 3 Peaks Challenge of September 2014.

This tough challenge tested our minds and bodies over a grueling 24 hour period with minimal sleep and food.

The purpose of this challenge was to help us raise the funds we needed to buy a minibus that would enable us to take our Scouts on all of the trips we have mentioned above and opened up our options for camps and activities further afield than we would be able to go.

Unfortunately the cost of running and keeping the bus along with being able to afford the activities and events we like our Scouts to have the opportunity to attend, is very costly.

We have found ourselves in a difficult position and need to raise more funds to enable us to keep our lovely minibus.

In January Myself along with Katy Reeves, Jack Bailey, Andrew Watson and Ellie Duffy-Penny will be taking part in a new challenge, HellRunner, this is a grueling 12 mile run through Longmoor army training camp, through ice cold bogs and rivers, over sand dunes, clambering and climbing up muddy hills all in aid of raising money to keep our bus.

Any donations however big or small will be hugely appreciated as we would like to maintain taking our Scouts to events and activity camps that we wouldn't otherwise be able to.
