My best friend's little girl has osteoporosis of the spine and dyspraxia. She has only just turned 9 yet has already broken over 35 bones in her body.
Ruby is a typical little girl, she loved dancing and horse riding, however, as her disability intensified she had to give up most of the things she loved doing.
Recently, she had to miss out on a school trip as they didn't have the resources to accommodate her disability, which obviously really upset her and it made her think about her future and how much she really does miss out on.
Ruby's consultant said a wheelchair would make a huge difference to her quality of life and would let her be independent whilst maintaining her safety and hopefully reduce the risk of breaking more bones.
Unfortunately the NHS has said she has to fund her own.
So please help make this beautiful little girl's dream come true and make it possible for her to join in playing with her friends once again and hopefully go on the next school trip.
The wheelchair needs to be modified to suit her needs and in true princess style needs "to be pink and sparkly" ~ Ruby's words.
I have known Ruby all her life and she really is an inspiration - no matter what life throws at her you can be sure she's always got that cheeky smile on her face that is so infectious and you instantly fall in love with her. She's an angel and so is her mum.x
