Trystan is an 11-year-old boy who since August 2016 has been through the hardest time watching as his precious mum battle breast cancer, survive breast cancer and then to be told she is now terminally ill with Lung Cancer.

Adele is one of the most kind hearted, caring humans you will come across in life and has devoted the last 10 years of her life caring for the elderly and disabled people. Now it’s her time of need and I want her to see that people care and she can still give Trystan a helping hand with his future milestones in life. Just like any mother would want to for their child.

I want us to come together and raise money for her youngest son Trystan to help give him the best start in life if she is not around to help him with his first car or house. Things we take for granted that we will be able to help our children with.

Adele’s Story

After a family holiday, Adele had the worst news, the doctor confirmed the lump she had found in her breast was cancer, grade 3 triple negative.

After appointments upon appointments asking if she was going to die she was told no as breast cancer has good survival rates, she started chemotherapy in September and this lasted until February 2017.

Trystan witnessed his mum being extremely ill at this time. She was hospitalised 3 times with sepsis, after many investigations and treatments the doctors found there was evidence of cancer in her blood vessels but still contained within the breast. Adele had to make the difficult choice between radiation or (for full closure) she could have a complete left breast mastectomy. She opted for the mastectomy which was done on the 10th May 2017. All went well, and her cancer had gone although not in remission, she was clear.

Jump to October 2017, Adele went to her doctors with pain in her right side. Assuming it would be pleurisy the doctor wanted to further investigate and rule out pulmonary embolism.

Adele prayed for it not to be the pulmonary embolism, but what came next was much worse. A CT scan revealed cancer!

She was taken to oncology ward and given a biopsy it came back positive only this time more serious because they cannot cure it, so Adele was faced with the devastating fact that she is now terminally ill and receiving palliative chemo care and has a Do not resuscitate (DNR) in place.

Like all mothers, I cannot begin to imagine what she must be going through when mentally preparing to leave behind her two boys.
