Alison loved reading and as a teacher promoted reading for pleasure in all sorts of ways. At St Philips Primary School, where she taught for many years right until the weeks before she died, Alison initiated all sorts of projects including redeveloping the library, holding reading clubs and even encouraging the staff to read more. I'd like to help the St Philips community to continue her work by setting up this fund. It will be used to promote reading for pleasure across the school - for example, by setting up an award for reading (I think a reading fairy may be involved...), and getting some special books for the classrooms.
